Luner on Theatre LIVE Kicks Off A New Season Tonight

Your favorite blog is back on air. Unedited. With the beginning of a new year comes many new ideas and new projects. We kicked off Luner on Theatre last year, lost momentum, and ended up derailing in a pile of other projects. However, it’s time to try again. Luner on Theatre is happy to announce that beginning tonight, Luner on Theatre LIVE returns to the airwaves for a new season. We’ll be back with theatre news you don’t only need, but want to know…and so much more.

Luner on Theatre LIVE is a radio show brought to you by Wagner College Broadcast Group and Luner on Theatre every Sunday night from 11:00 PM  to 12:00 AM.  The show kicked off in September of 2011 and tonight will be kicking off its second year on the air, with a new semester filled with tons of new and exciting project ideas. The show will have a variety of episodes, from themed to specific topics. Additionally, there will be episodes with general information about Broadway theatre, student productions, rock musical theatre, and more. Tonight’s episode will focus on the new semester for Luner on Theatre and the upcoming Fall 2012 Semester.

Time Change: Luner on Theatre LIVE is now Sunday’s at 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM

Besides a new time  to our show this year, Luner on Theatre is very happy to announce that now Luner on Theatre LIVE will be available to be viewed by everyone and anyone in the world! Wagner College Broadcasting Group has set up accounts through USTREAM, an online streaming site, so anyone can now watch the variety of shows WCBG has to offer. This means if you are not on the Wagner College campus, you can watch Luner on Theatre LIVE! And if that isn’t good enough, the episodes will be recorded and you can go back and watch them when you have free time! We are VERY excited about this brand new feature we have!

Luner on Theatre LIVE Returns Tonight to the Airwaves

Hello Everyone! We’re sorry we have had a lack of blogging lately but that isn’t keeping us from keeping you up to date on the theatre news you need to know! And tonight, Luner on Theatre giving you your theatre information in a LIVE-ly sort of manner as Luner on Theatre LIVE returns to the airwaves at Wagner College through Wagner College Broadcast Group!

Luner on Theatre LIVE is a radio show brought to you by Wagner College Broadcast Group and Luner on Theatre every Sunday night from 9:00-10:00 PM.  The show kicked off in September of 2011 and is now kicking off its second semester on the air tonight with a new semester filled with tons of new and exciting ideas. The show will continue to have themed episodes like it did last semester which range from episodes about Broadway theatre, student productions, rock musical theatre and many other topics. Tonight’s episode will focus on the new semester for Luner on Theatre and the new upcoming Spring 2012 Broadway season. There will also be discussion of new plans for the radio show itself which we are currently working out final details too and some other personal project’s we are working on.

This semester Luner on Theatre LIVE is hoping to become a bigger presence not only on the Wagner Campus but web as well. Working to connect online through other social networking websites is in the works and the major project for the season still stands at online streaming. However, one of our major projects in the works is viewing purposes for those not located on the Wagner campus in other forms then online streaming. We will be sure to explain more tonight and will be sure to keep the rest of you updated as to what we’re up to.

Another fun item we were able to begin last semester was prize giveaways! Our big prize giveaway of last semester was tickets to Godspell on Broadway! However, this semester we are working to connect with more agencies on prize giveaways for those who tune in weekly to Luner on Theatre LIVE. We are also currently in the process of setting up on site interviews in our studio with theatre professionals as well as students involved in the multiple theatrical productions we cover. This will not only help to expand our show but also give you a personal insight into whatever subject we are talking about having a real live person connected to that project there with us. And of course, questions of the week as well as calling into the show for feedback will continue as it did last semester!

Luner on Theatre LIVE Returns Tonight with Halloween Show!

Hello Everyone! Did you miss us? Tonight, after two weeks of theatre free airwaves, Luner on Theatre returns LIVE to the air to once again bring you all your theatre need to know news LIVE and up to date! And of course, keeping in the theme of our themed air shows, tonight Luner on Theatre LIVE gets a little bit spookier with a special Halloween themed Air Show!

Despite the fact that it may not look like it for those of you reading this and there is snow outside your window, Halloween is here! Everone is celebrating INCLUDING your favorite theatre blog, Luner on Theatre! Tonight’s episode of Luner on Theatre LIVE will be completey dedicated to Halloween, theatre and Broadway – I mean, Who could ask for anything more?

And while we don’t want to give away ALL the details of tonight’s fantastic line up we have for you, we do have some very cool topics in mind to discuss that will help us all get into the Halloween spirit and talk about theatre at the same time! From Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark to The Addams Family, Luner on Theatre will be covering some of our favorite Halloween type shows and more! Have you ever thought of a show that would make a fantastic Halloween musical? We’ll be covering that too! And of course, we’re going to be giving you a break down on some hip cool Broadway Halloween Costumes you could rock tomorrow! Do you have any cool Broadway Halloween Costumes? Send them to us! We’ll be using any and all photos we get tonight live on the air!

DID SOMEONE SAY PRIZES? If you follow Luner on Theatre on Twitter or Facebook, we announced earlier this week we were in the works for some prizes for this week’s show and ladies and gentlemen, we have them! Tonight on the show, Luner on Theatre will be giving away 1 pair of tickets to Godspell on Broadway! YES! That is right! We have a pair of tickets to give away to the latest hit revival hitting the Great White Way! There will be a Trivia and Call In to see who wins these tickets! However, if you don’t win tonight – Dont worry! We’ll be having prizes weekly that you can continue to win and so on!

For those of you not at Wagner College that want to listen to Luner on Theatre LIVE, Wagner College Broadcast Group is still working on setting up online streaming. The undertaking of this project is taking longer then expected due to rules and regulations of broadcasting online which is why we do not have that for you yet. This will most likely up  and running by next semester would be the best guess. However, Luner on Theatre does LIVE TWEET all shows and is LIVE on Facebook for consist talking to everyone who is and isn’t tuned into our show so you can check out what we’re doing there as well. However, Luner on Theatre LIVE is considering recording future air shows so that they can be viewed whenever by anyone who would be interested in them. We’ll let you know more about this as it develops.

Luner on Theatre LIVE Set to Return October 30th

Hello Everyone! Fall Break last week at Wagner College forced Luner on Theatre LIVE to cancel it’s first show ever due to the fact that no one would be on campus. Today, Luner on Theatre is here to annnounce that it’s hit radio show, Luner on Theatre LIVE, will not begin again for another two weeks. And even though we’re not happy about this announcement, we do have a good reason why!

Luner on Theatre LIVE is a one hour long talk radio show that kicked off September 18th, 2011. The one hour long radio show that airs weekly, Sunday nights from 9:00-10:00 PM, has been running since it’s launch covering everything from Broadway to student productions. In the one hour long show hosted by Luner on Theatre’s Chris Luner, Broadway show tunes are played, topics are discussed and call ins are an always. Luner on Theatre LIVE even features themed air shows! Our first was was titled “Introductions” considering it was our first time ever on the air! Before going off the air for a break, Luner on Theatre had a “Rock Musical Theatre” night. Prizes are also in the works and are hoping to be debuted at some upcoming air shows.

Anyways, Luner on Theatre is canceling the next two weeks of shows due to the fact of actual theatre events we will be needing to attend! This week, Luner on Theatre will be attending a performance of Wagner College Theatre’s Catholic School Girls. The performance is later in the evening tonight and is only being performed for those involved with another recent Wagner College Theatre production. This means there will be no Luner on Theatre LIVE tonight October 16th, 2011.

For the week of October 23rd, 2011, Luner on Theatre will be involved with a staged reading of Assassins taking place at Wagner College. This reading is being performed by alumni of the college’s theatre department in a special one night only event. Luner on Theatre will actually be bringing you coverage of this event this week but for now, we just wanted to let you know we’re going to be involved with this hence another week of no shows. We were planning to still have a return air show this week but it is not looking to be possible.

Luner on Theatre LIVE is presented every Sunday night between 9:00-10:00 PM. The show is created and produced by Luner on Theatre and Wagner College Broadcast Group. Luner on Theatre would like to extend a huge thank you to WCBG for their continued help and support so far and as our air show continues to grow and expand.

So, Luner on Theatre LIVE will return in two weeks on October 30th, 2011! We’re planning on returning with more fantastic episodes, prize give aways and call ins for everyone to get a chance on the air! Luner on Theatre LIVE Set to Hit the Airwaves

Our Big Announcement Is Here! Do you love Luner on Theatre? Do you sometimes wish you could talk to Luner on Theatre about particular Blog posts? Well, hold on tight folks. Luner on Theatre in Collaboration with the Wagner College Broadcast Group will begin bringing you a new radio talk show, Luner on Theatre LIVE!

Ridiculous? OH YEAH! Luner on Theatre is beyond excited to be heading to the airwaves! Luner on Theatre LIVE is a new radio show that has been in the works for several months now. Chris Luner came up with the idea of this talk show late last year which would be an on air radio show hosted by him for one hour once a week. Upon returning to Wagner College for a new year, Chris got into contact with Wagner College Broadcast Group (WCBG) and set plans in motion to make this show become reality. And now here we are! But what exactly is Luner on Theatre LIVE?

Luner on Theatre LIVE is a one hour long radio talk show that will be hosted by the creator of Luner on Theatre, Chris Luner aka me. If you had to ask me what this hour long radio talk show would be about, I’d say its probably going to be something quite ridiculous. In this hour, I’ll be playing doing quite a variety of things. Some of these things would include; Playing your favorite songs from Broadway shows, Talking about Broadway theatre, Wagner College Theatre topics and more! We’re going to have people call in to fuel discussions, answer questions and maybe even win some free prizes! Show Tickets? Anyone? We’re also working on setting up a line of Guest Appearances potentially as well as some calls from Wagner Alumni currently working in the theatre world. If you enjoy reading these Blog posts or reading these rants about particular topics, imagine that LIVE and thats what this show is going to be and MORE!

The hour long radio talk show will take place once a week on Sunday Nights from 9:00-10:00PM. If you attend Wagner College, you can actually turn to Channel 18 where you will be able to VIEW Luner on Theatre LIVE taking place in the studio. While we will not be playing directly to the camera (Considering this is a Radio show), you will be able to see my LIVE on air talking including my potential behavior whatever that may be. I have a feeling it will vary depending on subject.

AND if you’re not a Wagner College student on campus, there is still a way for you to listen in on Luner on Theatre LIVE! Wagner College Broadcast Group has an online forum where you can listen in on the current Broadcast taking place! However, right now there is a slight technical issue with this feature and it is not running! BUT, Luner on Theatre will be sure to let you know once this is backing up and running so if you are not at Wagner College, you can still experience this radio talk show! For those who can’t experience it, for now we’ll be Live Tweeting All Radio Broadcasts. We’ll also be sharing the number to call in on air so you can still be apart of the discussion and know what is going on! We hope this helps you out till that online listening is back up and running!

So, tune in this Sunday Night September 18th, 2011 for our FIRST EVER Luner on Theatre LIVE! We are EXTREMELY excited to be doing this! Something completely new and something that is really going to be a lot of fun for everyone! The show airs from 9:00-10:00 PM and we’re definitely planning on kicking things off with a bang!
